In the summer of 2012, I was fortunate in having my grant proposal entitled “iFlip – iLearn” funded by Mr. John Distefno a WIU alum. This $75,000 grant spread over three years allowed me an opportunity to “flip” two of my courses. Flipping two classes entailed getting proficient with iBook Author and its many competencies. It also meant content creation for flipping these two courses, recording podcasts for each chapter, creating a glossary of key terms that could subsequently be provided to the students as study cards (this is a feature of iBook Author). Each chapter was also accompanied by multiple evaluative assessments.
